The B2Gold More Than Mining Fund invests approximately $1 million annually, partnering with local charities that work with the most vulnerable and at-risk people in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

More Than Mining Fund provides financial support to community organizations in Vancouver, in three key areas:

HOUSING, HEALTH CARE AND HARM REDUCTION

Vulnerable communities and people living with mental health challenges are at greater risk when combined with poverty or homelessness.

PHS Community Services Society supports people who are struggling with their needs for harm reduction, health care, housing or shelter, targeting some of the most vulnerable and under-served people in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community.

The Bloom Group provides housing, shelter, and support for health care for vulnerable people in the Downtown Eastside area of Vancouver.

Other Causes Supported by the More Than Mining Fund

In addition to the core roster above, the More Than Mining Fund has supported several other Metro Vancouver organizations on an ad hoc basis, to aid with specific projects:

First United’s First Forward Campaign

First United’s First Forward Campaign, which will address critical housing, health, and social justice needs in the community by redeveloping their current site into a purpose built space offering four floors of community amenities, programs and services, and below-market rental housing for Indigenous Peoples. B2Gold’s More Than Mining Fund (MTMF) donated $250,000 to First United’s First Forward capital campaign.

YWCA Metro Vancouver

to support their Violence Prevention Program for women.

Canadian Red Cross

to support their Hurricane Fiona relief efforts, long-term recovery, and resilience and risk reduction activities following widespread flooding and damage to homes, buildings and infrastructure, impacting communities across five provinces: Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec. Our donation was matched by the Federal Government.
