Position
Accounts Payable Clerk

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Corporate Accountant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and stamp invoices;
  • Perform invoice verification for accounts payable related documentation (three-way matching between invoice, receipt note, and purchase order);
  • Record relevant account details on invoice;
  • Obtain coding and approvals for all AP invoices;
  • Process invoice in Sage X3 with relevant approvals;
  • Display document and investigate blocked invoices;
  • Resolve blocking reasons and unblock invoice or escalate;
  • Reconcile vendor statements on monthly basis and before each payment;
  • Handle vendor queries;
  • Identify invoices to be paid and prepare payment request;
  • Prepare monthly intercompany invoices to subsidiaries;
  • Prepare quarterly accrual list;
  • Prepare bank reconciliations;
  • Assist with month end;
  • File, photocopy, scan, and general office duties, as required; and
  • Other duties as set out by the Company.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Sage X3 experience is an asset;
  • 3 years’ full cycle AP experience:
    • Multi-currency;
    • Project costing;
    • Matching and capturing invoices in an ERP system;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail; and
  • Be able to build excellent relationships with vendors and team members.

Accounts Payable Supervisor

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Corporate Accountant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review captured invoices in the system by Accounts Payable Clerks;
  • Investigate and clear invoice issues;
  • Sign off on vendor reconciliations;
  • Handle complicated vendors’ queries;
  • Prepare invoice payments (payment registers) and upload wires/EFT for approval;
  • Enter and arrange approval for wire/EFT transfers;
  • Process transactions (i.e. wire transfers) for bank reconciliations;
  • Payables cheque run (run cheques, get approval, and deliver to courier);
  • File back-up for cash transactions and cheques;
  • Provide month end assistance;
  • Oversee the workload of Accounts Payable Clerks;
  • Complete credit application forms; and
  • Other duties as set out by the Company.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Sage X3 experience is an asset;

Introduction
Reporting directly to the Treasurer, this position will assist and take direction from the Treasury Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain treasury spreadsheets;
  • Prepare offshore invoices;
  • Prepare and send treasury letters for cash calls, bullion transfers and sales, wire payments, etc.;
  • Manage signatory and distribution lists;
  • Prepare monthly accounting statements and reconciliations;
  • Assist with audit requests, ISDA documentation, due diligence/KYC requests from banks and account openings/closings documentation;
  • Treasury filing, as well as filing for the VP – Taxation and External Reporting;
  • Treasury analysis work as required;
  • Prepare conference schedules; and
  • Other duties as required.

Position
Pit Foreman, West Africa – Mali

Introduction
The Pit Foreman will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supervising mining operations (drilling, loading, and hauling). He/she will ensure optimal and effective usage of mining resources to achieve optimal production in accordance with mine plan priorities and uphold the Company safety standards.

Location and reporting structure
Reporting to the Pit Superintendent, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct mine production/operation activities including drilling sequencing and loading and hauling to ensure a safe, productive, high quality, low cost, and efficient operation;
  • Monitor adherence to operation procedures;
  • Take corrective actions where deficiencies are observed;
  • Ensure adherence to short term plans as designed by Mining Engineers;
  • Determine resource availability and plan stock levels to avoid downtime;
  • Ensure messages/requests are conveyed clearly and understood by recipients;
  • Use correct line and channel of communication;
  • Supervise the daily operational performance of subordinates to ensure adherence to production targets;
  • Plan and draw up task allocations for the subordinates and ensure availability of required resources;
  • Monitor and control labour resources by taking disciplinary measures in cases of deviations and rewarding good performance;
  • Identify training needs of the section and liaise with relevant parties to achieve development goals;
  • Initiate on-the-job training where required;
  • Supervise operational compliance of subordinates and in relation to equipment utilization and skill levels;
  • Take corrective actions in case of abuse or negligent operation or damage to equipment;
  • Attend meetings and convey messages to subordinates;
  • Ensure work is done safely and in accordance with company procedures;
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained in all areas of operation;
  • Comply with company safety standards; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Grade 12;
  • At least 10 years mining experience in surface mining operations of which 5 years must be on mining supervisory level;
  • Knowledge of explosive and Minerals Act and Regulations;
  • Possession of Code BE driver’s license;
  • Valid open pit blasting ticket; and
  • Supervisory certificate is an asset.

Position
Pit Superintendent, West Africa – Mali

Introduction
The Pit Superintendent will be responsible for managing the pit operations such as drilling, blasting, and loading and hauling to optimize the use of allocated resources and ensure that the pit production targets are achieved.

Location and reporting structure
Reporting to the Mining Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Plan the activities of the pit to produce the short, medium, and long term required production targets to achieve optimal efficiencies;
  • Investigate and recommend final pit design parameters and surface layouts to the Mining Manager;
  • Liaise with the maintenance team on the scheduling of maintenance of the earthmoving fleet;
  • Implement and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives which target efficiency for the pit operation and productivity improvements;
  • Management of pit operation on ensuring continuous supply of feed ore to the processing plant;
  • Management of any possible Contractors in the pit to ensure production and adherence to safety procedures, and relevant statutory legislation;
  • Continuously analyze processes and systems in the pit with a view of finding ways for corrective action that could eliminate problem areas and to realign again with set goals and objectives;
  • Plan, schedule, and resource to meet set targets of the pit;
  • Facilitate the morning daily production meeting, document and ensure a controlled filing system of all proceedings;
  • Draw up annual budget for pit operation for approval by the Mining Manager;
  • Manage the daily operational performance of subordinates to ensure adherence to production targets;
  • Identify training needs of the section and liaise with relevant parties to achieve development goals;
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with coworkers/team members to resolve problems;
  • Ensure work is done safely and in accordance with company procedures;
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained in all areas of operation;
  • Comply with safety standards; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • A Degree or high National Diploma in Mining Engineering;
  • At least 8-10 years mining experience in surface mining operations;
  • Knowledge of explosive and Minerals Act and Regulations;
  • Hot and dusty work environment experience required;
  • Possession of Code BE driver’s license; and
  • Valid open pit blasting ticket.
