Position
Enterprise IT Administrator, Vancouver

Introduction
This position is to support B2Gold’s centralized infrastructure of Active Directory and associated enterprise-level services, and to drive the adoption of modern IT practices across the organization’s mine sites and branch offices.

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the enterprise Active Directory and Office 365 environment;
  • Design and implement security policies and modern authentication practices, as required;
  • Together with branch office IT leads, finalize the migration of individual branch sites and offices into the Corporate Active Directory;
  • Maintain the enterprise Okta single-sign on directory;
  • Together with site IT leads, improve and develop the existing SSO configuration by connecting additional services and authentication policies;
  • Maintain the enterprise Azure environment and associated services;
  • Maintain and configure the enterprise VPN hub (FortiGate VM on Azure), assist the site IT administrators in resolving connectivity issue and finalize the interconnection of all company branch offices into the enterprise VPN hub;
  • Work closely with site and branch office IT leads;
  • Advise and mentor site IT leads on new technologies;
  • Drive the adoption of modern security practices, IT operations methodologies and infrastructure solutions across the enterprise;
  • Perform implementation audits; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Server and infrastructure technologies: any major virtualization vendor (VMware preferred), Windows Server (basic campus/branch office services), and any Linux distribution;
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy in an enterprise environment and the ability to design and architect an AD domain from the ground up;
  • Experience with any major backup package and an understanding of backup in an enterprise environment;
  • Experience with any major infrastructure monitoring package, preferably in an implementer/senior engineer role;
  • Be able to script with any major language (PowerShell, Python, Perl);
  • Experience with cloud vendor offerings (AWS, Azure) will be an asset;
  • Networking technologies: any major campus networking vendor (Cisco, preferred) at a CCNA level or similar;
  • Solid understanding of L2 (VLANs, STP, 802.1X), L3 (OSPF and static routing, VPNs, UTMs, and packet filtering);
  • Knowledge of any major networking hardware product line;
  • Solid understanding of wireless technologies (channel planning, end user experience troubleshooting, 802.1X) in an enterprise/large campus setting with any major vendor;
  • IP telephony and unified communications experience implementation and trouble experience;
  • End user technologies: Windows 7/10 (including mass rollouts and remote support), any major enterprise antivirus package, workstation management package (SCCM, Symantec, etc.), Microsoft Office at a high/developer level (Microsoft Access, VBA scripting);
  • Management practices: understanding of common ITIL processes (certification will be a plus), knowledge of help desk practices (queues, prioritization and escalations, reporting and analysis), experience as a team lead or an implementer with any Service Desk software;
  • Experience with leading a small (<10 person) team, budgeting, procurement and vendor management;
  • Good documentation, monitoring and reporting practices;
  • A solid understanding of IT security strategies and practices across all levels of the infrastructure (organizational measures, modern authentication methods, endpoint hardening, network segmentation, and server armoring);
  • Application or website development experience in a modern setting (version control, automated testing, CI) will be an asset;
  • Database administration experience with any major product (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Postgres) will be an asset;
  • Fluent written and spoken English;
  • Strong “player-coach” mentality and work ethic, and a solid hands-on engineering background;
  • Ability to work independently at all levels of the job function and be a final escalation point for all relevant technologies;
  • 5+ years’ experience as an IT architect or a senior (L2/L3) engineer in an enterprise environment; and
  • Preference will be given to fluent speakers of French or Spanish.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply and monitor the application of occupational hygiene systems and procedures in areas of responsibility;
  • Anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control chemical, physical and biological hazards in the workplace;
  • Lead the implementation of the occupational hygiene monitoring programs, procedures and protocols to ensure exposure to hazardous substances are controlled to within exposure guidelines;
  • Assist Line Managers/Supervisors with programs, policies and procedures in ensuring all employees are trained in occupational hygiene processes and knowledgeable to apply correct working practices in all assigned tasks;
  • Foster an occupational health awareness culture with the main aim of achieving zero harm to people and the environment;
  • Implement an Occupational Health Management system;
  • Develop an occupational health exposure risk profile for Fekola employees and prioritize the exposure profile based on risk ranking;
  • Establish an employee-monitoring program based on the risk profile and conduct employee monitoring for chemical, physical and biological hazards;
  • Facilitate the completion of biological monitoring where employee exposure profiles dictate and manage results;
  • Establish a database for exposure monitoring data including data grouping by Similar Exposure Groups (SEG);
  • Work with departments to identify and implement control measures to reduce employee exposure.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls including ventilation systems;
  • Provide regular training and awareness on occupational hygiene topics;
  • Manage the Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation and Hazard Communications programs;
  • Maintain, calibrate and keep records of such for monitoring equipment;
  • Track corrective actions and reasons for delays;
  • Report all work related illnesses and work with site medical staff to manage these illnesses;
  • Promote and encourage employee contributions for on-going improvements of procedures;

Competencies and Requirements

Position
Training Coordinator, West Africa - Mali

Introduction
The principal function of this role is to manage the training requirements of the Processing Plant, ensuring that personnel are suitably skilled in their roles and regular skill enhancement occurs in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for the development of suitable training modules, to coordinate and deliver the training required for the team and to keep team leaders informed of issues as they arise relating to the skills enhancement and development of the team. This position will also be heavily involved in the OHS performance of the business and will drive and participate in safety improvement programs on a regular basis to improve the safety and environmental performance of the Plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support all company related policies and procedures;
  • Operate within standard operating procedures, SOPs and Job Safety Analysis;
  • Participate in shift safety meetings with departmental team members on a regular basis (i.e. no less than monthly);
  • Ensure safe working practices and environmental activities are conducted responsibly by Mill employees, contractors and visitors, cooperate with other departments in HSE compliance programs;
  • Prepare clearly written reports and other documentation on require frequencies within the time frames required;
  • Assist in mill shutdown and major maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of downtime is achieved;

  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience, at least 5 years within a hold processing plant, and 3 years at a supervisory level;
  • High electro-mechanical aptitude with an advanced level of troubleshooting skills;

Position
Electrical Superintendent, West Africa - Mali

Introduction
The Electrical Maintenance team shall take leadership and responsibility for the safety, maintenance, repair or replacement of all electrical equipment and systems for the site to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. This position will work in collaboration with the Planning and Procurement team to ensure spares and consumables are managed including identifying and requisitioning of newly identified items. Maintenance of the relevant inventory spares listing and mapping to parent equipment will fall under the role to ensure compliance is achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train and support Maintenance Electricians to perform required tasks, including inspecting, troubleshooting, and utilizing root cause analysis process and repairs to equipment to ensure day to day maintenance duties are successfully carried out;
  • Long-term planning to ensure the needs of the Process Plant is met to achieve its objectives and targets;
  • Monitor maintenance performance on a daily basis to ensure responsible practices are being conducted at all times with minimum wastage or unnecessary expenditure/downtime on plant and equipment;
  • Develop centerline and machine setup documentation on equipment;
  • Participate and provide regular support on maintenance prioritization and shutdown planning;
  • Install specified electrical equipment and devices according to electrical standards;
  • Prepare material takeoff for electrical and instrumentation installations;
  • Prepare electrical and instrumentation diagrams and plans;
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches or schematic diagrams;
  • Ensure that files of all electrical and instrumentation manuals and diagrams being used in repair and troubleshooting are properly organized;

Millwright, West Africa – Mali

Introduction
The principal function of the Millwright is to support the Mechanical maintenance activities within the Processing Plant, ensuring they are being conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure the Plant is performing as intended achieving the required targets. The Millwrights will coordinate and motivate the team towards these objectives, control and manage activities in the safest possible manner, and provide timely and reliable information to their superiors on a regular basis. Fuel Coordinator, West Africa – Mali Learn More

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this position will be based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Introduction
The Fuel Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the fuel product at the Fekola site. This position is required to train, manage and coach fuel attendants, oversee all product handling procedures, manage the inventory and ordering of supplies, and ensure the routine maintenance of all fuel-related equipment is conducted. He/she is also responsible for maintaining a safe and clean fuel environment at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support all company related policies and procedures;
  • Maintain Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards and apply these standards to installations and areas. Conduct safety inspections on all related areas;
  • Monitor and analyze contract performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, schedules, quality and cost objectives;
  • Maintain regular contact with the Contractor;
  • Maintain close contact with the Contractor’s representative at site;
  • Provide the Contractor with next 2 months estimated quantities with each new Fuel Purchase order and with annual estimated quantities on a quarterly basis;
  • Interact with other departments and contractor regarding queries or concerns regarding fuel issues and distribution;
  • Ensure the certification for the products is available, valid and proper;
  • Monitor inventory levels for all locations to ensure adequate stocks are on-hand;
  • Make up monthly fuel delivery schedule and ensure its realization;
  • Place fuel orders timely in accordance with the demand projection;
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products received;
  • Document discrepancies in product receipt quantities and quality. Conduct investigations on shortages or discrepancies;
  • Ensure purchase order revisions/refund claims are submitted monthly with supporting documents;
  • Receive Bulk Fuel and Oils according to company procedures;
  • Maintain quality control of fuel. Operate and maintain onsite laboratory test equipment. Collect and analyze product samples from receipt sources and bulk storage tanks;
  • Arrange collecting and submitting product samples to offsite laboratory for full specification analysis, follow up on test results, provide HODs with relevant report;
  • Monitor fuel usage for vehicles, generators, individual equipment and analyze any major anomalies or patterns of inconsistent fuel consumption;
  • Ensure only authorized vehicles and equipment are filled;
  • Ensure Fuel Attendants keep accurate records and fill daily sheets properly;
  • Maintain records and prepare reports regarding quantity and value of fuel purchased, received, stored, and used;
  • Ensure weekly dips are taken and recorded;
  • Act as alternate to the off-loading and dispatching of fuel when required;
  • Maintain storage and dispensing facilities. Maintain inspections and maintenance records for facilities. Reports facility deficiencies to appropriate maintenance department; and
  • Supervise, train and monitor performance of staff.

Competencies and Requirements

  • University or Master’s degree preferably in engineering, business administration, management, or a relevant combination of professional certification, academic qualifications and extensive experience in logistics operations, supply chain management, chemical, petrochemical or mechanical engineering;
  • At least 3 years of responsible professional experience in supply, project/contract management or logistics support of fuel products;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, French, and Bambara,
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Valid BE driving licence;

Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting operationally to the Financial Manager, Mali but functionally to the Finance and Governance Manager, Africa, this position will be based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Introduction
The Group Reporting Financial Manager (“GRFM”) is responsible for managing and coordinating the Company’s corporate financial reporting processes and structures. To achieve that, the GRFM must manage the finance corporate reporting team, ensure the integrity of the accounting reports and reporting systems, and must take responsibility for the monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate financial reporting processes both on a local (OHADA) level, and on a group level to Vancouver (IFRS). The GRFM must also assist the Financial Manager – Mali (“FM”) to oversee the cost and management accounting and reporting, treasury, and tax reporting functions, and statutory reporting (OHADA).

The GRFM must also assist and support the FM with other related financial management activities, execute and perform specific requests from the FM and will act as the FM when the FM is on rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Coordination and Integration

  • Plan, supervise and oversee, including giving assistance and on-the-job training to the corporate finance reporting team;
  • Ensure implementation of succession and individual development plans for team members. Properly plan team rotations to ensure appropriate staffing during reporting periods;
  • Assist the FM to ensure that all financial IT systems at site effectively support the financial reporting requirements;
  • Take overall responsibility and provide assistance, coaching and guidance on the preparation of monthly cost and other reports that must be submitted to Vancouver. This includes preparation of trial balances and reports in US$, incorporating head office push down costs and charges and complying with IFRS reporting standards;
  • Prepare and consolidate the financial results and reports where required, of all the various B2Gold entities in Mali as per instructions from Vancouver;
  • Act as first point of contact with the Finance team in Vancouver for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and promptly respond to head office requests;
  • Act as an interface between the financial and non–financial stakeholders and provide advice on the interpretation of relevant financial and cost management reports; and
  • Stay abreast of all new reporting developments in both OHADA and IFRS and the effect and implications it may have on the Mali entities.

Financial Records and Policies

  • Assist the FM to ensure the integrity of the ERP financial reporting system (SAGE), taking into account the reporting requirements and functionality. Make sure designed controls are executed and being complied;
  • Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures with specific focus on reporting requirements; and
  • Assist the FM to ensure that accounting policies are correctly implemented and applied in the accounting records.

Financial Controls/Processes

  • Assist the FM to review accounting records monthly, including transactions, reconciliations and month-end procedures prepared by the finance reporting department;
  • Assist the FM to review monthly cost reports prepared by the Cost/Management Accountant, including coding conventions and requirements of the heads of departments;
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other statutory requirements;
  • Assist in the development of reporting requirements and information available or compilation of the information between the operations (development, exploration, production and administration) for management/cost accounting; and
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to Vancouver as required.

General Duties

  • Assist FM with any other sundry requests. Act as stand-in FM when the FM is on rotation; and
  • Provide expert advice to the organization relating to the financial effects of contemplated transactions.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant or similar;
  • At least 10 year’s post-qualification relevant experience, of which 5 years should have been in a senior reporting role;
  • Specialist knowledge of IFRS and group reporting practices;
  • Preferably 5 years’ experience in Mining environment; and
  • Previous experience of reporting on the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) (specific TSX reporting requirements).

Introduction
In Mali, Fekola SA, a subsidiary of B2Gold Corp., is finalizing development and commissioning operations at the Fekola Mine in the Kenièba Region. Fekola SA has a strong commitment ot the sustainable development of the communities affected by the project. In order to enhance local service provision and supplier content to strengthen the relationship with the main stakeholders of the project, Fekola SA is currently looking to recruit a Local Content Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Champion the company’s efforts to enhance local content;
  • Be responsible for identifying and assessing potential Malian service providers and suppliers at local, regional, and national levels by developing and implementing a pre-screening process leading to an approved local provider register;
  • Work with the Procurement Department to ensure that local procurement opportunities meet project standards in terms of minimum criteria relating to cost, quality, and timely delivery;

Introduction
B2Gold Corp. is looking to hire a Site Information technology manager for the West African Fekola Mine to run the site’s IT department and be responsible for the IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an IT manager, architect or L2/L3 engineer with experience in building and maintaining end-to-end IT infrastructures for medium-sized branch offices/campuses and in managing small support teams.

Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the Fekola Gold Project in Mali.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a lead of a 5-strong department, maintain and develop the Fekola Mine IT infrastructure, including: end user desktops and laptops (250+ Dell units), wired networks (50+ Cisco switches, 4 Mikrotik routers, FortiGate UTMs), wireless networks (30+ Ubiquiti bridges, 350+ access points), server infrastructure (Dell 3-server VMware farm with shared storage running Windows 2012R2 and Ubuntu Linux), backup (Veeam Backup&Replication + offsite tape backup);
  • Maintain user-facing, security and infrastructure services such as antivirus protection (Kaspersky AV), file servers, print services (30+ HP and Lexmark MFP printers), Windows updates, IP telephony (3CX IP PBX, Asterisk gateway, 100+ Snom IP phones), Internet connectivity, database services (Microsoft SQL Server), terminal services, IPTV (NetUp headend, 300+ NetUP STBs);
  • Manage, guide and lead the IT department staff;
  • Organize budgeting and procurement;

  • End user technologies: Windows 7/10 (including mass rollouts and remote support), any major enterprise antivirus package, any workstation management package (SCCM, Symantec, etc.), Microsoft Office at a high/developer level (Microsoft Access, VBA scripting);
  • Networking technologies: any major campus networking vendor (Cisco preferred) at a CCNA level or similar (certification will be a plus). Solid understanding of L2 (VLANs, STP, 802.1X), L3 (OSPF and static routing, VPNs, UTMs and packet filtering), knowledge of the hardware product line. Solid understanding of wireless technologies (channel planning, end user experience troubleshooting, 802.1X) in an enterprise/large campus setting with any major vendor. IP telephony and Unified Communications experience implementation and troubleshooting experience. Good physical network experience, solid cabling and rack-building skills. Fiber welding experience will be a plus. Packet radio experience will be a plus;
  • Server and infrastructure technologies: any major virtualization vendor (VMware preferred), Windows Server (basic campus/branch office services), any Linux distribution. Solid knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy in an enterprise environment. Experience with any major backup package and an understanding of backup in an enterprise environment. Scripting with any major language (PowerShell, Python, Perl). Experience with cloud vendor offerings (AWS, Azure) will be a plus;
  • Management practices: understanding of common ITIL processes (certification will be a plus), knowledge of help desk practices (queues, prioritization and escalations, reporting and analysis), and experience as a team lead or an implementer with any Service Desk software. Experience with leading a small (<10 person) team; budgeting, procurement and vendor management. Good documentation, monitoring and reporting practices;
  • A solid understanding of IT security strategies and practices across all levels of the infrastructure (organizational measures, authentication improvements, endpoint hardening, network segmentation, server armoring);

This position is based in the Vancouver Corporate office, but will be required to travel extensively and reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

To manage the Corporation’s health, safety and environment programs

  • Oversee the corporate health, safety and environment function including establishing Policies and Standards, establishing Directives and Guidance, setting Objectives and Targets, and developing systems and measures that appropriately assess functional performance;
  • Ensure critical permits are maintained and complied with by all operations;
  • Provide input into the development of corporate, regional and site procedures/practices:
    • Standardize procedures/practices across the organization as needed;

    • Advise and assist site management in the development of hazard control methods and techniques consistent with B2Gold health, safety and environment requirements;
    • Oversee the implementation and quality control of competency based training systems at B2Gold sites;
    • Oversee accident investigation process to ensure an effective root cause analysis system is maintained at each operation.  Collect data, analyze trends and communicate across the organization the common reasons why accidents are occurring, including overseeing the implementation of corrective actions at all B2Gold sites relating to findings from accident/incident investigations for extreme risk events at any B2Gold site; and
    • Ensure management system software is utilized effectively at B2Gold operating sites, including training site personnel in its use and approving and implementing software modifications/updates.
  • Oversee accident/incident investigations for fatalities and extreme risk events at B2Gold sites;
  • Measure, audit and evaluate the health, safety and environment management systems and hazard controls at B2Gold operations for conformance with B2Gold’s health, safety and environment requirements and communicate the results of evaluations to site management and appropriate corporate personnel:
    • Oversee the health, safety and environment standards (Management System Standards and Performance Standards) audit program, including communicating results to site management and appropriate corporate personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate follow up on issues that arise out of audits, inspections and accident/incident investigations;
  • Review regional and site health, safety and environment budgets;
  • Oversee the development of the health, safety and environmental components of the Corporation’s Responsibility Report;
