Position
HSEP Engineer, Vancouver

Location and Reporting Structure
This position is based in the Vancouver Corporate office, but will be required to travel extensively, and reports directly to the HSEP Manager.

Introduction
B2Gold Corp. is looking for an energetic self-starter HSEP Engineer who wants to learn and grow professionally within the role. He/she should have the demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively engage various teams across all sites to work towards the continuous improvement of HSE performance.

Duties and Responsibilities
To support the Company’s health, safety, and environment programs.

  • Provide input into the development of corporate, regional, and site procedures/practices;
  • Ensure the completion of annual Asset Retirement Obligation estimates for B2Gold’s sites;
  • Verify the completion of corrective actions relating to site HSE Improvement Plans, HSE audit findings, and significant HSE incidents;
  • Maintain incident/illness consolidated statistics for the Company’s operations;
  • Maintain various consolidated monitoring databases for the Company’s operations, e.g., water accounting framework water balances, GHG emission inventories, and waste management inventories;
  • Provide input to the development of the health, safety, and environment components of the Company’s Responsibility Report; and
  • Support environmental studies and impact assessments for the Company’s development projects, as required.

To advise the management group on corporate health, safety, and environment.

  • Produce and deliver monthly health, safety, and environment reports on the operational performance of B2Gold sites;
  • Prepare internal and external health, safety, and environment reports or components of reports, as required;
  • Review best practices and the competitive landscape and recommend continuous improvement efforts in corporate health, safety, and environment; and
  • Stay current with technological developments, standards, methods, and international best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; and
  • French and/or Spanish language skills are an asset.

Position
Treasury Supervisor, Vancouver.

Term
Full-time contract position to cover maternity leave for a term of approximately 18 months.

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Treasurer, but will also be responsible to and occasionally take direction from other Company managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fund Cash calls and bank accounts;
  • Account Opening/Closing Documentation;
  • CAT Financings and backup for RCF documentation – Fekola, Masbate, and Otjikoto;
  • Prepare quarterly Compliance Certificates for CAT Financings and RCF along with backup documentation;
  • Liaise with System Administrator for online banking;
  • Provide banks ongoing Know Your Customer (KYC), due diligence, and ISDA documentation;
  • Liaise with external audit, internal audit, and SOX to ensure that processes and policies are adhered to;

    • Prepare offshore invoices.

Competencies and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills;

  • Accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years’ experience;
  • Proficient working knowledge in Advanced Excel;
  • Proven time management expertise, with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision required;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills;

Drill & Blast Superintendent, West Africa - Mali

Introduction
The purpose of this role is to provide direct output support to the open pit operations through the effective/efficient coordination of all drill and blast activities for production, in conjunction with internal/external stakeholders, including all related documentation in the drill and blast section, ensuring that sufficient blasted buffer and drilled capacity is available at all times.  

Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Mining Manager/Deputy Mining Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Commit to supporting all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental program goals and objectives;
  • Develop and maintain a safe working environment in his/her area of accountability;
  • Maintain a safe working attitude utilizing the principle of “Duty of Care”;
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions as well as injuries, accidents, equipment damage, and near misses in a timely manner;
  • Participate fully and lead the incident investigations in the area of accountability;

  • Provide direct output to manage the explosives supply contract;
  • Continually search to develop technology and ensure effective continuous improvement of the section;
  • Mentor and develop subordinates in accordance with the succession plan and talent management principles;
  • Conduct regular reviews on outputs achieved;
  • Document annual agreed upon performance targets linked towards the business strategy; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering;
  • 5 years’ post qualification experience within an open pit hard rock mining environment, of which 2 years’ must be in drilling and blasting;
  • Sound knowledge of mining industry practices, regulatory requirements and industry standards;
  • Sound computer skills and knowledge of applicable software;
  • Driver’s license; and
  • Opencast mining blasting certificate.

Legal Administrative Assistant, Vancouver

Introduction
The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the Legal Department to keep corporate minute books up to date and files organized on a day to day basis, depending on transactions at such time.

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Manager, Legal Administration & Senior Paralegal and the Manager, Securities, Compliance & Governance.

Duties and Responsibilities
File Maintenance

  • Create new files, virtual file lists, scan documents into document management system (“Worldox”), and maintain filing system;
  • Ensure paper and digital filing in Worldox is up to date;
  • Maintain Confidentiality Agreements (“CA”) excel list and diarize CA’s for expiry; and
  • Periodically prepare files that will be going to storage.

Assist with Corporate Records

  • Organize and maintain company shadow minute books, including scanning documents into Worldox;
  • Update records, address changes, and changes in Officers & Directors; and
  • Update corporate company fact sheets, when required.

Other General Duties

  • Assist with quarterly mail-outs, including proofreading materials for Edgarization;
  • Create binders for the Directors and Committee meetings, including inserting tabs and putting labels on spine;
  • Perform general office duties, such as typing, photocopying, and shredding confidential material;
  • Place order of supplies for legal department;
  • Provide back-up reception support, when required; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a legal role with general corporate knowledge in the areas of any one of the following: (1) corporate records, (2) corporate commercial, (3) corporate securities, (4) corporate mergers and acquisitions and/or (5) corporate finance/banking;
  • An excellent team player who is flexible and willing to assist, when required;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with both internal and external people;
  • Ability to complete everyday tasks with minimal supervision and willingness to take ownership of the role;
  • Experience in maintaining files in hard copy and digital format;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and Worldox (preference) or another document management system; and
  • Experience maintaining corporate minute books is an asset.

Electrical Superintendent, West Africa - Mali

Introduction
The Electrical Maintenance team shall take leadership and responsibility for the safety, maintenance, repair or replacement of all electrical equipment and systems for the site to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. This position will work in collaboration with the Planning and Procurement team to ensure spares and consumables are managed including identifying and requisitioning of newly identified items. Maintenance of the relevant inventory spares listing and mapping to parent equipment will fall under the role to ensure compliance is achieved.

Reporting to the Mill Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train and support Maintenance Electricians to perform required tasks, including inspecting, troubleshooting, and utilizing root cause analysis process and repairs to equipment to ensure day to day maintenance duties are successfully carried out;
  • Long-term planning to ensure the needs of the Process Plant is met to achieve its objectives and targets;
  • Monitor maintenance performance on a daily basis to ensure responsible practices are being conducted at all times with minimum wastage or unnecessary expenditure/downtime on plant and equipment;
  • Develop centerline and machine setup documentation on equipment;
  • Participate and provide regular support on maintenance prioritization and shutdown planning;
  • Install specified electrical equipment and devices according to electrical standards;
  • Prepare material takeoff for electrical and instrumentation installations;
  • Prepare electrical and instrumentation diagrams and plans;
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches or schematic diagrams;
  • Ensure that files of all electrical and instrumentation manuals and diagrams being used in repair and troubleshooting are properly organized;
  • Ensure safe working practices and environmental activities are conducted responsibly to the highest standard achievable, and cooperate with other departments in HSE programs;
  • Prepare clearly written reports and other documentation on required frequencies (responsible for the quality and timing of the information being provided from reports, inspections, etc.);
  • Advise and assist with preparation of maintenance plans/scheduled activities for both short and long-term timelines including major maintenance periods and other routine shutdowns;
  • Responsible for the training and mentoring process for Site Electrical personnel;
  • Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with B2Gold employees, contractors, and consultants; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • BEng Degree in electrical discipline or equivalent extensive industry experience;
  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience, at least 5 years within a gold processing plant at a Supervisory or Senior Technical Support role;
  • High electro-mechanical aptitude with an advanced level of troubleshooting skills;
  • Experience with equipment reliability programs;
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products and EAP software;
  • Experience with workplace safety programs;
  • Experience with budgets and budgeting methodologies;
  • Experience with formulating short and medium-term goals/operating plans, including shutdown planning and execution;
  • Large Autogenous/Semi-Autogenous Mill Maintenance experience including drive line management, lubrication systems, and NDT principles;
  • Familiar with legislative requirements governing Mining and Quarrying operations, regarding electrical installations and practices;
  • Previous experience working in developing countries; and
  • Relevant electrical license/qualifications that may be required.

Millwright, West Africa – Mali

Introduction
The principal function of the Millwright is to support the Mechanical maintenance activities within the Processing Plant, ensuring they are being conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure the Plant is performing as intended achieving the required targets. The Millwrights will coordinate and motivate the team towards these objectives, control and manage activities in the safest possible manner, and provide timely and reliable information to their superiors on a regular basis. Training and mentoring of National trades personnel and artisans will be a core function of the Millwrights purpose to transfer the required skills to the Mechanical Maintenance team.

Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the B2Gold Mali Fekola Mine.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support all company related policies and procedures;
  • Operate within the standard operating procedures and job safety analysis;
  • Accountable for the integrity, reliability and operability of mechanical equipment installations at the plant;
  • Address mechanical non-conformance issues through effective use of department personnel/resources;
  • Prepare clearly written reports and other documentation on required frequencies within the time frames required;
  • Assist with daily and weekly planning, execution and control, including scheduling and priority work assignments;
  • Responsible for the successful execution of mill shutdown activities and quality of work performed;
  • Ensure the Process Plant is maintained in an excellent state of housekeeping at all times;
  • Responsible for the transactions of maintenance spares/consumables ensuring items are costed to the correct GL code/work order number;
  • Conduct inspections of the maintenance work activities during your shift, mentor team members, QA/QC of work quality and direct/adjust work methodologies accordingly;
  • Liaise with Mill Operations on a daily basis to ensure suitable resolution is achieved to issues associated with equipment performance or reliability;
  • Ensure safe working practices and environmental activities are conducted responsibly by Mill employees, contractors and visitors, and cooperate with other departments in HSE compliance programs;
  • Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with B2Gold employees, contractors, and consultants;
  • Never allow a piece of equipment to be operated by somebody not trained or authorized to do so
  • Train local employees in the role and provide mentoring and the development of skills, where possible; and
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Competencies and Requirements

  • High school degree;
  • Written and oral fluency in French is an asset;
  • Trade qualifications in a mechanical maintenance discipline;
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a mineral processing plant post trade;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Supervisory capacity in a similar role;
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations unaided;
  • Experience with workplace safety programs;
  • Strong Electro Mechanical aptitude;
  • Experience with CMMS and planning functions;
  • Experience/exposure to chemicals and familiarity with MSDS is an asset;
  • Ability/willingness to work long shift durations, including shift work;
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; and
  • Experience with load shift techniques, including directing cranes and other mechanical equipment.
