Position
Operations Executive Assistant, Vancouver

Introduction
The purpose of the position is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Senior Vice President, Operations of B2Gold Corp.

Location and Reporting Structure
Based in the Vancouver Corporate office, this position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Format correspondence and spreadsheets after technical input is finalized;
  • Prepare and arrange presentations;
  • Assist to draft and compile meeting agenda and minutes, when requested;
  • Review and collate miscellaneous reports and documents for the SVP;
  • Reserve boardroom for appropriate meeting dates;
  • Oversee and proofread SVP’s presentations;
  • Work with operational staff in various jurisdictions to ensure seamless operations;
  • Manage calendars and schedules;
  • Code invoices for approval;
  • Book travel and accommodations for the SVP;
  • Maintain an efficient and accurate filing system;
  • Provide support at the AGM and other meetings and events, including necessary IT support;
  • Sedi filings;
  • Manage the SVP’s credit card administration;
  • Draft SVP’s budget and code invoices for approval;
  • Screen calls and greet guests;
  • Sort and distribute mail;
  • Personal errands, as required (bank, dry cleaning, lunch, etc.);
  • Provide back-up reception support, as required; and
  • Other duties, as required.

Competencies and Requirements

  • University Degree, College Diploma or Technical Certificate, is preferred;
  • Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills;
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience, is preferred; and
  • Graphics or CAD skills are an asset.

Position
Human Resources Manager, Mali

Introduction
The purpose of the position is to promote corporate values and enable business success through the successful development, implementation, monitoring, and management of the duties listed below. The incumbent oversees all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes, supports business needs, and ensures the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives. The position furthermore entails planning, directing, supervising, and coordinating work activities of the Human Resources Department.

Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the Fekola Gold Project in Mali. The incumbent will also have a close working relationship with the B2Gold Corp. HR Department.

Duties and Responsibilities
Implement and Maintain HR frameworks:

  • Compile, update, and implement relevant HR policies and procedures and ensure adherence to such;
  • Develop and manage HR Information Systems (including HR, Payroll, Leave, and Timekeeping systems);
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of current and historical human resource records and ensure protection (privacy) of data;
  • Produce management and statutory reports;
  • Implement HR best practices and ensure good governance and adherence to statutory and audit requirements;

Manpower Planning and Job Design:

  • Assist with organizational design;
  • Maintain the work structure by ensuring job descriptions and requirements are updated and implemented for all positions;

Compensation and Benefit Management:

  • Propose remuneration strategy and policy to management;
  • Implement salary structures and advise on remuneration matters;
  • Perform job grading and ensure internal and external equity;
  • Manage the complete payroll process;
  • Implement and oversee the administration of relevant company benefits;

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Facilitate the recruitment and selection processes;
  • Evaluate, propose, and implement attraction and retention strategies;
  • Review employment contracts and terms and conditions of employment;
  • Ensure HR induction is performed;
  • Evaluate and manage pre-employment assessments and conditions;
  • Support expat administration;
  • Consider and support local employment and empowerment initiatives;

Workplace Relations and Employee Wellbeing:

  • Facilitate healthy workplace relations and communication between management and staff;
  • Be the primary contact with staff representative bodies;
  • Perform specialized tasks relating to discipline and grievances;
  • Identify and address employee wellness requirements;

Training and Development:

  • Manage the development of training and development initiatives and individual development plans;
  • Give direction on bursary and internship programs;
  • Support line managers in terms of their departmental training plans;
  • Design and implement performance management tools and advise Line Managers on performance management;

Strategic Objectives and General Support:

  • Assist management with achieving the strategic objectives of the organization;
  • Partner with all departments on various matters;
  • Provide guidance and corrective measures on workplace matters;
  • Provide information and reports, as required;
  • Prepare and manage HR, training, and payroll budgets;
  • Manage contracts of HR service and labour providers;
  • Support company initiatives and be involved in identifying organizational risk and implementing and managing controls; and
  • Ensure continuous improvement of HR services.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Honors is preferred, obtained from a reputable institution;
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience at a HR managerial level, preferably in the mining industry;
  • Advanced knowledge/skills are required in the following areas:
    • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintaining them;
    • Negotiating and facilitating;
    • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best course of action;
    • Business and management principles;
    • Fluent in English and French;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must lead by example and be able to practice self-management, be a self-starter, and instill credibility;
  • Must be a hands-on manager and be able to work for lengthy periods under consistently high work pressure;
  • Has the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines; and
  • Possession of a driver’s license.

Position
HSEP Engineer, Vancouver

Location and Reporting Structure
This position is based in the Vancouver Corporate office, but will be required to travel extensively, and reports directly to the HSEP Manager.

Introduction
B2Gold Corp. is looking for an energetic self-starter HSEP Engineer who wants to learn and grow professionally within the role. He/she should have the demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively engage various teams across all sites to work towards the continuous improvement of HSE performance.

Duties and Responsibilities
To support the Company’s health, safety, and environment programs.

  • Provide input into the development of corporate, regional, and site procedures/practices;
  • Ensure the completion of annual Asset Retirement Obligation estimates for B2Gold’s sites;
  • Verify the completion of corrective actions relating to site HSE Improvement Plans, HSE audit findings, and significant HSE incidents;
  • Maintain incident/illness consolidated statistics for the Company’s operations;
  • Maintain various consolidated monitoring databases for the Company’s operations, e.g., water accounting framework water balances, GHG emission inventories, and waste management inventories;
  • Provide input to the development of the health, safety, and environment components of the Company’s Responsibility Report; and
  • Support environmental studies and impact assessments for the Company’s development projects, as required.

To advise the management group on corporate health, safety, and environment.

  • Produce and deliver monthly health, safety, and environment reports on the operational performance of B2Gold sites;
  • Prepare internal and external health, safety, and environment reports or components of reports, as required;
  • Review best practices and the competitive landscape and recommend continuous improvement efforts in corporate health, safety, and environment; and
  • Stay current with technological developments, standards, methods, and international best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.

Competencies and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; and
  • French and/or Spanish language skills are an asset.
