Clive T. Johnson

Clive T. Johnson President, Chief Executive Officer & Director

Clive Johnson has served as a Director and the President of B2Gold since December 2006 and Chief Executive Officer since March 2007. Mr. Johnson oversees our long-term strategy and development as well as the day-to-day activities of B2Gold. Previously, Mr. Johnson was involved with Bema Gold and its predecessor companies since 1977. Mr. Johnson was appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bema after it was created by the amalgamation of three Bema group companies in 1988. He was a driving force in Bema’s transition from a junior exploration company to an international intermediate gold producer. Mr. Johnson is currently a director of Vanadian Energy Corp. and BeMetals Corp. Mr. Johnson received the 2004 Viola MacMillan Developer’s Award from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and in 2013 he received the Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Mining and Metals.


Mike Cinnamond

Mike Cinnamond Senior Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer

Mike Cinnamond has served as our Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer since April 1, 2014. Mr. Cinnamond oversees the financial reporting, cash management and tax planning of B2Gold as well as financial compliance and reporting to the regulatory authorities. Prior to joining us, Mr. Cinnamond was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was the BC Resources Leader for the Mining, Forestry and Energy and Utilities practices. Mr. Cinnamond has more than 25 years of experience in the mining industry sector. Mr. Cinnamond is currently the President of the Canadian Institute of Mining for 2023-2024. In addition, he previously served as a Director at the Canuck Place Children's hospice. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and also holds an LL.B designation from the University of Exeter.


Bill Lytle

William Lytle Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

As the Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Bill manages all mining and engineering operational activities from acquisitions through closure, and coordinates engineering teams for due diligence, acquisitions, engineering, construction, operations and closure. Bill has been a valued member of the senior executive team, ensuring B2Gold delivers on its business strategy with regards to operations as well as the Company's Sustainability, HSE, Supply Chain and IT functions that will continue to resort under his care together with Mine Engineering, Metallurgy, Maintenance and Projects.

Bill originally joined the Bema Gold team in 1998, working on the Kupol and Julietta projects, and later became the Vice President of Environmental, Health, Safety and Permitting for B2Gold. Bill advanced to the role of Country Manager for B2Gold Namibia, overseeing the Otjikoto mine construction and the transition into operations, and was promoted to Vice President, Africa in 2014 during which time he oversaw the mine construction at the Fekola Project. In February 2016, Bill was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations; his most recent role prior to the appointment as COO. In these various roles, Bill has been instrumental in B2Gold's dramatic growth and resulting success over the years. Bill has a BSc in Chemical Engineering, MSc in Civil Engineering, and is a registered professional engineer (Colorado, USA).


Randall Chatwin

Randall ChatwinSenior Vice President, Legal & Corporate Communications

Randall Chatwin has more than 15 years’ experience in the mining industry and joins B2Gold from Goldcorp Inc. where he most recently served as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel from May 2015 to May 2019. Mr. Chatwin was instrumental in the execution of Goldcorp’s US$12.5 billion merger with Newmont Mining Corporation in April 2019.

Prior to joining Goldcorp, Mr. Chatwin was a partner at the law firm of Lawson Lundell LLP, where he spent 11 years practicing corporate commercial and corporate finance law, with a specific focus on the mining industry. During this time, he played a key role as external counsel to B2Gold in connection with its growing operations, including the acquisition and financing of B2Gold’s operating assets.

Mr. Chatwin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, and Juris Doctor (law) degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Chatwin is an active member of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) and recently received his Certified In-House Counsel (CIC.H) designation from the CCCA. In addition, he is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of British Columbia.


Victor King

Victor King Senior Vice President, Exploration

Mr. King has more than 30 years of senior management experience in exploration, development and production in the gold mining industry. He joined B2Gold Corp at the end of 2013 following the acquisition of TSE-listed Volta Resources, where he was Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2013. His initial role at B2Gold was Exploration Manager for West Africa, where he continued with the work on Volta’s +5 Moz Kiaka gold project, initiated the exploration effort that led to the Toega discovery and was involved in the acquisition and ongoing exploration management at Fekola until 2017. Most recently, he was Vice President, Exploration, and prior to that, Regional Vice President for West Africa, responsible for regional corporate management, government relations, community relations and general administration for Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Senegal.

He has extensive African experience, starting his senior management career in 1992 as the Exploration Manager for Gold Fields in Ghana, where he led the exploration team which resulted in the discovery and development of one of the largest gold mines in Ghana, the world class Tarkwa Mine.

As Regional Exploration Manager for Africa with Gold Fields from 2001 to 2006, he was responsible for generating, managing and advancing exploration projects in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Tanzania, Eritrea and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He graduated in 1987 with a BSc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.


Dennis Stansbury

Dennis Stansbury Senior Vice President , Engineering & Project Evaluations

Dennis Stansbury has served as our Senior Vice President of Engineering and Project Evaluations (and prior to that our Senior Vice President of Development and Production) since March 2007. Mr. Stansbury is a mining engineer with over 40 years of engineering, construction, production and management experience at surface and underground mines in fifteen different countries. After working for a number of gold mining companies in South America and the United States, he joined Bema Gold as Vice President South America in 1994 and was appointed Vice President of Development and Production in 1996. Mr. Stansbury has a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.


Eduard Bartz

Eduard Bartz Vice President, Taxation & External Reporting

Eduard Bartz has approximately 20 years of direct experience in the mining industry, joining Bema in April 1997. He was appointed as Vice President, Taxation and External Reporting in December 2013 and was previously corporate controller of B2Gold (and Bema) prior to his new position. He is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Colombia.


Andrew Brown

Andrew BrownVice President, Exploration

Andrew Brown has over 25 years of experience in the mining industry and joined B2Gold in 2012, and was appointed Chief Geologist, West Africa in 2014. He has held increasingly senior positions in B2Gold’s principal exploration programs, most recently as Exploration Manager, Africa. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Brown was part of the Bema Gold exploration team, providing technical contributions to Kupol and Julieta Mine, in Russia and to Bema’s South African operations. He was a founder and CEO of Laurentian Goldfields Ltd., a TSX-V listed exploration company focused on early stage gold exploration in Canada.

Mr. Brown holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology and an M.Sc. in Geology, both from Laurentian University, in Sudbury, Ontario and is a Registered Professional Geologist (P.Geo) with the Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia.


Ninette Kröhnert

Ninette KröhnertVice President, Human Resources

Ninette Kröhnert joined B2Gold Namibia in 2013 as HR Manager, supporting the Otjikoto Mine construction and operational phases, and Fekola’s construction and operations as Global HR Manager. From 2016, she held increasingly senior global HR roles and most recently that of Director, Human Resources at B2Gold’s head office in Vancouver. Prior to joining B2Gold, Ms. Kröhnert was HR Manager at Swakop Uranium, and held various HR and Finance management roles in the Information Technology industry.

Ms. Kröhnert graduated in B.Com. Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, and completed further post graduate studies at the University of Johannesburg and Business Management at the University of South Africa.


Michael McDonald

Michael McDonaldVice President, Investor Relations & Corporate Development

Michael McDonald has more than 15 years of experience in capital markets and joins B2Gold from Gold Standard Ventures where he served as Vice President, Corporate Development & Investor Relations from 2021. Prior to joining Gold Standard, he held corporate development and investor relations roles with SSR Mining from 2010 to 2017, and from 2019 to 2020. From 2017 to 2019, he was Vice President, Metal Sales for Goldcorp.

Mr. McDonald started his career in investment banking with CIBC and holds a B.Com. in Finance from the University of British Columbia.


Peter D. Montano

Peter D. MontanoVice President, Projects

Mr. Montano started his career as a civil and geotechnical engineer, specialising in civil infrastructure and mining projects throughout the Americas, before adding mining engineering to his portfolio. Collectively, he has over 15 years of global experience in the mining industry that encompasses geotechnical engineering, mine construction and operation, open-pit design and planning, financial modelling and project optimization.

Mr. Montano joined B2Gold in 2010 as Senior Engineer and was instrumental in the development and expansion of the Company’s first two mines, El Limon and La Libertad, in Nicaragua. Shortly thereafter he was promoted to Senior Project Engineer where he played a fundamental role in the construction of the Company’s first mine in Africa, Otjikoto, located in Namibia. Subsequently, Mr. Montano was responsible for the initial feasibility study and long-term plans of the Company’s flagship mine, Fekola, located in Mali, and was swiftly promoted to Project Director in 2016. He has since continued to optimize and significantly add value to the Company’s projects, including the mine expansion at Fekola and addition of the Wolfshag underground mine at Otjikoto, which ultimately led to his promotion to VP, Projects.

Mr. Montano holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) and a Bachelor of Science (Engineering, High Honors) from the Colorado School of Mines, USA, and is a registered Professional Engineer (Colorado, USA).


Dan Moore

Dan MooreVice President, Operations

Daniel Moore has over 30 years’ gold mining experience in operations, project management, and engineering roles.  He has been with B2Gold since 2017 when he joined one of its subsidiaries, Phil. Gold Processing and Refining Corp. (PGPRC) in Masbate, Philippines, where he was President and General Manager starting in 2019 and Assistant Vice President of Technical Services prior to that time.  Before joining B2Gold, he held positions with Kinross Gold, Echo Bay Mines, Placer Dome, Pegasus Gold, and Allied Nevada in progressively responsible executive, management, and engineering roles. 

Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Nevada, Mackay School of Mines and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Nevada.


John Rajala

John Rajala Vice President, Metallurgy

John Rajala has more than 30 years of experience in precious metals plant operations, management, engineering and process development. As Vice President of Metallurgy, his responsibilities include directing B2Gold metallurgical operations and process design for new projects. Prior to joining B2Gold in 2011 as Manager of Metallurgy, he worked for Kinross Gold, Bema Gold and Hecla Mining Company in various technical and management capacities. With Bema Gold he was responsible for the process flowsheet development and plant design for the Kupol Project in Russia. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in metallurgical engineering from Michigan Tech and the University of Nevada, Mackay School of Mines and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Washington.


Neil Reeder

Neil Reeder Vice President, Government Relations

Neil Reeder joins B2Gold following a distinguished government career of over 35 years with Global Affairs Canada. He helped advance Canada's trade, foreign policy and development agenda during seven different diplomatic postings overseas and in increasingly senior positions in Ottawa. Most recently, he served as Canada's Ambassador to the Philippines. His previous ambassadorial postings include serving as Canada's High Commissioner to Brunei and as Canadian Ambassador to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras. He has also served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico. Mr. Reeder has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University. He speaks three languages.


Dana Rogers

Dana Rogers Vice President, Finance

Dana Rogers was appointed Vice President of Finance in October 2018. Ms. Rogers joined B2Gold in January 2014 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Director of Finance in 2017. Ms. Rogers started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and has been the controller for several other public mining companies. Over her 15-year career she has worked in audit, finance and treasury for companies with operations in Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, the US, and the UK, in addition to the countries where B2Gold currently has operations. Ms. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) from the University of British Columbia. She is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
